BOOK NOOK WILL RESUME IN THE SPRING OF 2010

Preschool Visitors
Book Nook and Garden Safari

General Information:  On select Mondays (see below for exact dates), Jimmy Carter Library staff and volunteers will read from a selection of story books in our library and conduct an outdoor Garden Safari. Story time will be offered in the museum lobby, at the colorful bean bag seating area by the Book Nook sign. Themes we will include are the presidency, leadership, growing up, roles adults play, etc. Simple language and colorful illustrations are included in every book. Colorful beanbag chairs are available to sit in.

Times:  Book Nook hours are from 10:00-10:30am

Garden Safari begins at 10:30am in the museum lobby, or as soon as Book Nook concludes.

Policies:   There are a limited number of bean bag chairs, so if you're concerned about having a seat, you can bring your own pillow, and we can offer folding museum stools to those who need them. Please turn off cell phones and take crying babies to the gardens or the bathroom to sooth them until they can return to the Book Nook. Adults must supervise their children during Book Nook. It is not a drop off activity. Program geared for children ages 3 to 7.

Garden Safari: Go on a nature scavenger hunt with Library and Center staff. Learn about conservation. Safari will follow each Book Nook story time, weather permitting.

Afterward:  After your time at Book Nook and/or Garden Safari, stroll and play in the gardens on your own. Paths are available for strollers, lawns for picnicking, and the café is available for lunch between 11:30am and 3:00pm.
