General Information
All School Tour requests must be submitted via the electronic reservation form or in writing. Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received. Please see below for more scheduling information.
School Season: Tours and Programs are offered from September through May. February, March and April are our busiest months; therefore, we suggest scheduling your tour(s) between October and January. For groups larger than 70 students, we suggest requesting multiple days or different times. Guided tours for school-aged groups are not offered during the summer.
For Teachers: Download our standards-correlated activities guide BEFORE your field trip for pre-visit lessons (UNIT 6: JCLAM Onsite Multimedia Interactives)
Tours: School tours are offered free of charge Tuesday - Thursday mornings by reservation only. Tour reservations must be made by completing the request form and sending it to the address below at least two (2) weeks in advance. When the completed form has been received, the Program Assistant will contact you to make alternative arrangements as necessary. Programs are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. For information on the appropriate age level and maximum group size for a specific tour, refer to descriptions on the School Tours and Programs page.
Note: To assist in scheduling your request, please indicate three (3) choices of dates for your visit.
Tour Reservations: Use the electronic reservation form or print and mail/fax your reservation request.
Confirmations: A confirmation for the tour will be mailed to you.
Cancellations/Rescheduling: If you must cancel a scheduled tour, please notify the Program Support Assistant as soon as possible. Call Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm (404) 865-7114.
